The Future Mr. & Mrs. Vanderwoude

Ryan and Carissa booked us to photograph their wedding at the end of this year and we are beyond excited! It is going to be in Three Oaks MI at a Distillery and its going to be an absolutely beautiful day.

We just did their engagement session a few weeks ago where we traveled around the town of Portland and photographed these two at some of their favorite sites. It was a bit cloudy that day but that didn’t stop us from getting some gorgeous images. They had their beautiful fur child, Maizey, in a lot of their images and she was the perfect model! She is their pride and joy and I loved being able to see the love they share for their baby.

A few of their favorite things to do together consist of going for walks around town, visiting their local book store, and reading. They also enjoy visiting museums all over the country (how cool is that?!). They seem like such a perfect pair and I wish them so much love and joy throughout their lives! We can’t wait to photograph you both on your big day!!

Johnson Wedding

June 9th 2018

Traci and Justin have such an amazing bond. They are funny, adorable and parents to two precious little girls. I was thrilled to spend their wedding day with them. The day started of rainy and gloomy but just in time for the ceremony the sun popped out and we had absolutely beautiful weather.

Their day was full of family, from the caterer to the officiant. So much joy and love surrounded these two as they read their vows and will continue to support them. Best wishes Traci and Justin!

The Future Mr. & Mrs. Russell

Malerie emailed me last fall about scheduling her wedding for October of this year. I met with her a few weeks after and we were able to talk about their wedding day and the dream that she hopes it will be. We booked her date and then started planning for their engagement session. After their engagement date getting rained out the first time around we were finally able to get a new date set for last week. It was a hot June day, filled with mosquitos and ticks, but that didn’t stop us from capturing the love that these two share for each other and their dogs.

These two really show what true love is. I had them fill out a little questionnaire so I could get to know them a little better prior to their session date. I was able to learn so much and really incorporate their style into their session.

Malerie and Nathan have such a sweet “how we met” story. They met at a party when she was just 16, they exchanged numbers and never thought they would really see each other again. Years later they were able to reconnect and the budding love story began! ❤

A few awesome things I learned about these two was their love for the outdoors. One of their favorite things to do together is fish and camp, especially up north. They love exploring our beautiful state of Michigan as a couple along with their pooches. They also volunteer to foster dogs while they look for their fur-ever homes. They have fostered 14 altogether already! How cool is that?!

Along with fostering 14 pups over the years, they have fallen in love with 3 of their own. Their little family is just the cutest and these pups can’t wait for their humans to get married.

We are looking forward to your fall wedding Malerie & Nathan. We are honored and excited to be the ones to capture it ❤ You’re such beautiful people inside and out.

Upstairs Downtown Tour-IONIA

May 19th was a rainy Saturday morning. Logan (Mr. Brick Street) and I decided we wanted to go to Ionia’s Upstairs Downtown tour. Neither of us had ever been so we drove down to the studio to grab an umbrella and made our way to the ticket booth to purchase our tickets for the event.

They gave us a slip for our tickets that had 8 different locations on it all along Main Street. As we made our way to the first spot, I of course thought I wouldn’t want my camera so I didn’t have it with me. Well that was a mistake. Now I know to never not have my camera even if I want to attempt to take a morning off haha. We made our way back to the studio to grab the camera and then continued onto our tour.

Throughout the tour we were able to see all different buildings that have some amazing history to them. More than I could have ever imagined. Some had areas that had been renovated into apartments, others were still in their original decaying state. One building has been transformed into a wedding venue called Venue 404. It was a beautiful thing to see and to learn about the histories of each of these buildings and what once was there.

These are just a few of the shots I was able to get. To see more please visit HERE

Styled Shoot

This past weekend we had the opportunity to partake in a “Styled Shoot”. If you don’t know what a styled shoot is, it is something that we in the wedding industry put on to help each other out. The photographers will go in and photograph models, gowns, desserts, jewelry, flowers and other things that go into making a wedding day complete so those vendors will have some images to share in their portfolios, and we as photographers will have new images to add to our portfolios.

Thanks to Lavender & Lace Photography for putting this event on! I was able to meet a few other photographers as well as some great vendors in the Grand Rapids area and beyond. While also capturing some beautiful images throughout the day. I hope you enjoy!
